I really enjoyed getting to know Sarah and Gary. They were so laid back and very excited about the arrival of baby McKenzie. We thought we were going to have reschedule our outdoor shoot due to the downpour we got caught in on the way to the location. Luckily for these summer storms they’re quick and they move on. So we waited it out and BAM! we were good to go. Gary actually suggested this location by the water, and I’m glad he did.

Virginia Beach

I’m disappointed in myself. I didn’t take nearly as many photos as I would have liked in Va Beach. I blame the weather. Man, was it HOT. Not even any wind. Wind would have been nice. It stormed on and off and don’t let the photo fool you. Literally 20 minutes before I took this the beach was PACKED. But the storm rolled in and it cleared like cock roaches running for cover when you turn the lights on. The clouds here reminded me of a painting. I don’t know which one..but just a painting.

I’m Alive!

Wow, I’ve neglected this blog for quite sometime now. But there’s a good reason. A lot has happened since I last posted. We closed on the new condo and moved back to VA, I graduated school, and now I’m left with unpacking..still. It’s about 90% done, there’s a few stray boxes in the garage that I’ve been getting to whenever I feel ambitious.

I’ve got the office somewhat situated now and I’ve been trying to find the motivation to sit in there and redesign my websites and blogs. Yes, that was plural. I’ve decided to make a separate site and blog for my boudoir work. Since I love it so much I wanted it to have its own identity and space. Hopefully I’ll have it done real soon to post my upcoming shoots on it.

So I’m starting fresh. I want to put all my efforts into my photography since school is done, even if it is part time. What better way to start fresh with a new look. I know, I know, I promise this will be the last. No more changes for awhile.

It’s been awhile since Bob has made an appearance on the blog, now that he’s back from his extended vacation in North Carolina. This was from this past weekend while I was unpacking boxes. It must have been some kind of magic kitty shielding box since Roxy didn’t even seem to notice.

Excited? no wait..obsessed might be a better word. Roxy was more than thrilled to be in the water. My dude came home for 2 weeks and we found a dog beach for her. It was probably one of the hottest days this year and to go along with her water obsession, she’d OCD about her orange ball. She won’t go all in the water until she barks your face off to throw the ball in so she can go after it. So here’s our OCD shepherd in the Chesapeake Bay.

The title says it all. Yay! After surviving two blizzards in the DC area, I’m definitely happy to see this warm weather. I can slip on my flip flops ..that’s a huge bonus, you have no idea. I have a love hate relationship with shoes…I like them, I love shopping for them, but I’d much rather slip on my flip flops. I know weird, right? And I’m talking Old Navy 5 dollar flip flops, nothing fancy. I digress..

So Spring, yes, the warm weather and flowers are a blooming! As some of you may know I’m residing in the sticks with my parents until the new condo is done in VA. My mom has flowers of all sorts planted around the yard and when I came home from grocery shopping there were all these butterflies on the lilac bush. So I ran inside and literally threw my groceries inside and grabbed my camera. (It’s a good thing I didn’t get eggs..)

Yes, I know, this isn’t a butterfly.

Kim+Shane+Aiden :: Southern Maryland Maternity Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting my brother’s girlfriend’s cousin’s wife. Did you get that? Kim contacted me last week to get schedule time for maternity photos, but we had limited time. She’s due really soon and who knows when Aiden is going to decide to come. So we met up at her place then took a drive to Gilbert Run park. The weather was perfect, and Shane was a great sport! I had a lot of fun with Kim’s maternity session, and giggled while going through the photos because Kim and Shane are just too cute! It was hard to narrow down my favorites, but here they are…

Ms. M :: Maryland Boudoir Photographer

I met Ms. M a couple weeks ago and she really wanted to get a gift for her husband for his birthday, and wanted to do something different. After seeing some boudoir photos from a friend, she contacted me and we set up a session. Between me doing acrobatics on the furniture and random jokes, it was a serious giggle fest and so fun! Ms. M, I hope your husband loved his birthday present!
