My dude in a polaroid transfer

In a couple weeks I’ll be visiting my dude in the much needed warm weather down south. It’ll be a nice birthday present and a happy reunion at the same time. I will say, I am nervous about flying this time. With all the weird stuff happening lately with airplanes really freaks me out. I’ll try to be brave though. It’s a much needed break and I hate this DC cold weather.

While he’s away for a year, our new condo is being built and we have a lot to look forward to next year and of course his return. Before he left, I had him model for me so I could play around with the light.. cough cough…(so I could have photos of him before he left) I also got this awesome polaroid transfer set from swiss miss design haus, a door prize I won at the basics workshop . So I decided to play around with them tonight. I have to figure out what to do with these, I’d hate to have them sit on my hard drive. Anyone have any ideas?

My Dude

I was out in Old Town last night playing around with the georgous light and taking advantage of the last day I had left on my lens rental (24-70mm, which I decided I NEED to get!). So my dude played model for me. My favorite shot of the night:

Our Mini Hike

Roxy loves to go on hikes and walks…actually, she just enjoys being outside. While on our walk at South Run Park, we found some trails which I had to have her pose for. You know, by the fowers, on the little bridge, and of course the scary bugs that go along with walking near woods. We will hike these trails again…soon!

I liked the vintage action on this photo. The original can be seen on my flickr site.

New Burn, NC

This Christmas weekend, the BF and I took a trip to the eastern side of NC to visit his parents. It’s a quiet place, very open and umm, very country. Don’t get me wrong, I love the quiet, and the country, in fact one day, I think it would be awesome to have a place with some land and a fence for Roxy to go run free and spread her long deer legs, like a regular happy dog should. But there’s a city girl in me that can’t be away from the fast paced bustle that the city offers.

As we walked around New Burn, I almost felt right at home, it looks very much like Old Town Alexandria. The little shops and that historical feeling it possesses, just like Old Town.

I got this as we were crossing the bridge back into town going like 60 mph! Ahhh..waterfront property, so dreamy! I can just picture Roxy doing a belly flop right into the water.

The light was pretty and the skies were clear. I liked how the colors of the buildings contrasted against the bright blue sky.

Then there was this mural. The BF stopped for a break ..no actually, I made him stand there. (hehehehehe) and had to get some shots of him and the mural. Looks like a bunch of pilgrims or something.

Textures

I was playing around with different textures tonight to get different effects on some photos. Here are the results.
